Protect Consumers this Summer!
Dear Illinois Policymaker:
Nobody should ever have to worry that it’s too expensive to stay safe and cool this summer. Please do all you can to protect Illinois consumers from skyrocketing energy prices. That includes advocating for:
- An expansion of energy assistance (including an infusion of utility shareholder money) to account for a wider number of customers struggling with their bills.
- An immediate expansion of money-saving efficiency and demand-reduction programs offered by Illinois utilities.
- An expansion of consumer-friendly payment plans to help people stay connected.
- The acceleration of clean energy projects in Illinois to avoid shortages of affordable power for consumers.
- Electricity market reforms to allow for the approval of critical transmission improvements to make way for more clean, affordable energy in Illinois.
- Investigations by federal regulators and other authorities into possible manipulation by energy producers and marketers.
Also, please join Illinois consumers in speaking out against Ameren’s $83 million and ComEd’s $199 million delivery rate-hike requests. Now is not the time to add to consumers’ pain.
Utility customers in Illinois need immediate relief. Please act now.
