The Senate has passed sweeping, bipartisan infrastructure legislation that would provide:

$73 billion for the power grid and related equipment
$55 billion for water systems
$65 billion for broadband investments
$15 billion for electric vehicles

This would be a great step forward, but it still has to pass the House of Representatives. And a bold companion budget bill needs approval in both chambers. Please, urge our representatives in Washington to pass the infrastructure bill and a budget that helps consumers, improves broadband and advances clean energy.

Subject: Pass a historic infrastructure bill and a pro-consumer budget that advances clean energy

Message:

As an Illinois resident who cares about tackling climate change and making sure everyone has access to clean and affordable energy, safe water and broadband, I urge you to do everything you can to pass a bold and historic infrastructure package. (That includes passing a budget that helps consumers and advances clean energy.) A grim new United Nations report shows that we're out of time to prevent the most catastrophic problems caused by climate change—UNLESS we act boldly now to move beyond dirty energy. U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres calls the report released this month a "code red for humanity." In Illinois we’re fighting for pro-consumer clean energy legislation in Springfield, but we also need Washington to step to the plate. Please stand up for clean, affordable energy and water, and better broadband. I urge you to pass the infrastructure bill and a budget that helps consumers, improves broadband and advances clean energy. Thank you for your time.
